I bought different kind of colored wire and thread, so I am going to create drawings inside the dark boxes and than project part of the drawing onto the wall. I might use the method of camera obscura. I want to make two art pieces out of one (2 in 1). This is just the beginning!
Love it! So that is real physical string in a real box? I thought it was a computer generated image at first. What kind of string is it and what is the box made out of/painted with?
ReplyDeleteThank you Oz! Yes it is real physical string in a real box. The box is made out of black foam board, and string is the polyester hand sewing thread, bought in CVC. Simple and cheap!

ReplyDeleteThere's a nice sense of scale in these images - it's easy to think of them as a room. I'm curious how you might make use of camera obscura with this.
ReplyDeleteThough his work is very different, I would be remiss if I didn't mention Fred Sandback's work - do you know it? It's not light, but he uses string in a way that has a remarkable physicality.
The paintings you've been working on look good. Hard to really see in this format of course. It'll be good to get together on Saturday to see them in person.
